"The company Laser Light Communications (see previous entry here) intends to build a constellation of satellites to provide worldwide optical broadband."

I read their specs on how they plan to get around weather problems though they are using optical. Pretty clever. Essentially using what we astronomers call "sucker holes" to maximum advantage.
